I love Reagan's delayed "oww" and Piper's giggles. We should have been outside again today with it being so warm but it didn't happen, we will go out in the new snow tomorrow afternoon.

Sickness continues
Friday, February 20, 2009
Well I didn't feel better by Monday, it's been a tough week but finally this afternoon I started to feel better. My head is clearing slowly but surely and for the first time in more than a week I feel alert and have a little bit of energy. This is a nasty cold. Now, if I can get the girls past all this we might be home free. Of course as I type Jason has been taking Sudafed again so if it runs it's course through me I may have another few weeks of ups and downs. We are looking forward to the weekend. Jason has some work to attend to and the girls and I are going over to celebrate Aydan's birthday tomorrow but it should be quiet for the most part.
I should really start taking pictures. I just can't get excited about taking pictures of the girls playing inside with the same toys over and over. We will have to take a field trip when we're feeling better.
Reagan has had an exciting week, that girl is changing so fast. We put music on and dance after dinner most evenings and on Tuesday Reagan learned how to jump. It was so cute, just a little hop here and there but of course when I turn on the video camera she stopped. She's also starting to talk a little bit more. She is just the sweetest little thing (for now, I see the terrible two's fast approaching). Oh, her other new thing, she's tried to throw a couple of tantrums this past week. They are so funny, she wants to throw herself on the floor and stomp her feet but she is unsure of how to do this so she crouches down and puts her hands on the floor and bounces her behind. So darn funny!
Sick Momma

Yes, I finally couldn't fight the cold any longer. I am sick. Luckily I am nowhere near as sick and Jason was. My main complaints are body aches and being tired. Hopefully I will be better come Monday.
Happy Valentine's Day
Friday, February 13, 2009

Jason and I don't really celebrate Valentine's Day but since just about everyone else does I thought I'd try out a new cupcake recipe and idea from one of my books. I sent these off to Jason's work, hopefully they've been gobbled up. I also started another blog just for my cakes, www.babycakescakes.blogspot.com
And finally some pictures

Piper's Birthday party - Nanny looked a little worse for wear that day, between her eye being all red and puffy and a huge black and blue bump on her head, she looked rough! Still enjoyed cake though - that's my girl!
of course the Birthday girl, from this perspective the cake looks huge and Piper looks tiny. It's funny as I took this picture I thought of some of my birthday cake pictures from when I was a kid, same corner of the kitchen but the wood panelling is gone
presents
Bill and Jason - looking for something!?!
Mom and Niki
Dad and Jill
Papa (I don't get it, why do you always make funny faces in pictures Lonny??), Claire and Piper
There are a few rare moments during the day when all gets quiet. Of course I get nervous and have to inspect, some times I actually catch the girls cuddling together - too cute!
Aydan and Piper in Piper's tent - color is way off!
another cute cuddling moment
Jason and Piper cleaned the garage and then had a bonfire to get rid of all the cardboardsickness and cranky kids

What a weekend! Aunt Claire came over to visit on Friday and we all had fun, she's a popular visitor over here. On Saturday we had some more popular visitors, Uncle Bill and Aunt Niki and come dinner time I knew Piper was overly tired from all the fun but then I felt her forehead and she was burning up. She had a high fever all Saturday night and all day Sunday with only a slight cough. Well this morning I thought the fever had broken but she got a glass of milk and about an hour later "spit" it up. She calls throwing up "spitting up". Well after her morning fun she started feeling better and even ate some bannana for lunch and two bites of toast. A good nap was had and now she's a whiny mess this afternoon and her fever seems to be back.
Reagan on the other hands seems to be feeling great and is even a bit bored without Piper torturing, I mean playing with her. That means Mommy is even more in demand than usual as Piper seems to have forgotten how to walk, how to put a blanket on herself, how to turn on the tv, how to find her water glass and just about anything else. Reagan on the other hand can not seem to keep herself busy without Mommy for more than 5 minutes.
If I ever get some time and concentration I'll post some more pictures. I have some cute ones of Piper and her friends from a playdate a few weeks ago.
