Rollerskates and a big box

Sunday, October 12, 2008

The other day we took a walk and Jake from down the street gave Piper his old Rollerskates. After dinner we put them on and it didn't take Piper too long to feel comfortable enough to walk around without holding onto us. They had a great time playing and Jake tried his best to teach her the ropes. It was pretty cute!

Daddy even put his old Rollerblades on and took a spin.

Oh boxes, the funnest toy of them all
Individually they loved being in the box but Reagan did not like Piper sharing the box with her, I still thought the photos were cute

Reagan was being so cute before bed, she was giving her baby kisses and feeding her the bottle

The cake was a success!

I got a call from Michelle and the cakes made it in one piece and everybody thought they were great - whew!!! I had been so nervous about it making the trip up North and it was such a relief when she called and said it was delicious and people were impressed. Now I can't wait to see the final pictures of it all decorated up.

1st cake order.....

Thursday, October 9, 2008

So the Tuesday night I'm just hanging out, watching the debates and I get a call, can I make a cake? Well sure, no big deal I thought. Turns out it's a bridal shower and wedding cake by Thursday night. OK - lets go! The bridal shower cake is a variation of one's I've done before - piece of cake (pun intended!). I think it turned out great!

So now for the wedding cake, up until 2 hours ago I thought it was the uggliest thing I've ever attempted and felt horrible that some bride was going to have this as her cake. After all is said and done though you throw some flowers on top and it looks pretty good. Just don't look too closely at the details. I didn't fully decorate with flowers, the wedding is up North and not until Saturday so these flowers won't stay. I think they are also going to put some ribbon bows on the corners as well. I do have to say a huge thank you to Mom for coming to help me out, not only with the girls but the cake construction as well. I learned a lot from doing this cake, next time I have to make a tiered cake it will be so much better! I am exhausted!

Relaxing weekend

Monday, October 6, 2008

Jason and I had a chance to go up to the cabin by ourselves this weekend. Piper had a blast with Grandma Mary and is still tired from all her fun. Reagan had a great time (and a lot of food) at Grandpa Miller and Jill's house. Thank you Mom and Dad for taking the girls, it was nice to get away!

As you can see by the trees the color isn't too bright up there yet. Just a town south had a lot more color though. Another week or so and it will be really pretty.
We hung out by the fire pit for a while enjoying the sunshine
Piper asked me "who took your picture" - smart girl!
We went for a 4-wheeler ride and there was a little bit of red, mostly green and a little yellow though
I've always been captivated by these groves of pine trees, I've always wanted to run through them, well I didn't but I made Jason do it while I took a picture - Piper said she wants to run through them next time with Daddy.

Another day at the park

Thursday, October 2, 2008

Since it was actually warm outside this afternoon I thought we should head out to the park after picking Piper up from school. I found Tina online and told her she should head over too after her kids got home. We all had a great time!

Where did our tans go already?

Wow, someone else to take pictures for me - what a perk!

My litte rock collector
Emily showing off her skils, Reagan thought it was pretty cool.
I don't know what was so interesting in this tree, the berries maybe?
Piper bumped her head and so she was a litte overly sensitive when the other kids didn't want to climb the tree and get the "cherries" for her.
