State Fair Fun

Sunday, August 26, 2007

Piper got to meet Spongebob! I was off getting some Sweet Martha's cookies so I missed it but I guess she wasn't shy at all, she ran right up and hugged him and grabbed his hand. It was her dream come true.

So much to see!
Little Farm Hands exhibit - she got to feed "animals" and plant seeds and take her produce to the market.
And ride a little John Deer

Oh, do we have to go home?

After the slide she wanted to go back for more - she's fighting to get away from Jason and run back up.
I think I'll make this picture a yearly tradition after the slide - I have the same shot from last year.
Niki and Piper in the cow barn - Piper did not want to turn her back to the cows
She also got to meet Dora!
This is her prize haul before the 3 big ones came along - Bill, Niki and Jill were having fun with the games

A little ice cream break
We met up with friends - here we all are before we ran into Dad and Jill too
Weeee! I love having Piper as an excuse to go down the slide again.
We had a fantastic time at the Fair yesterday. Reagan stayed home with Grandma Robin and they had their own great time and it sure was nice for Jason and I to take just Piper and spoil her rotten. Of course having Bill and Niki there she was even more spoiled. Piper had a great diet of french fries, cotton candy, cookies, ice cream, a smoothy and maybe a couple of other tastes of things but I thought she was going to explode yesterday but on the way out she was asking for more ice cream. That's our kid - a sweet tooth in training. At least she eats her fruits and vegies like crazy too.

The Cutest Picture I've ever taken

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

This is definitely my new favorite picture! Reagan lights up around Piper and I let Piper hold her on her tummy like this and they were just cracking each other up. They are so precious! Jason and I are very lucky!

Storm Damage

view of our street from my driveway
Ken's tree in his front yard - Bill and I used to climb these trees as kids
Closer view of Ken's tree
Our poor gazeboo - barely standing but it hung in there - more duct tape repairs are needed - :)
House across the street from us - their roof was already this bad

Terry's house - the trees had been bulldozed into his yard, they were completely blocking Portland Avenue

Terry's front yard

Terry's backyard & shed and neighbor's fence remnants
looking out from our driveway toward's Terry's
That was a crazy little storm that rolled through, we are so glad Piper went up North with Grandma and Claire earlier that night. We finally got our power back up Monday. We only had a few branches down and a lot of debris from other yards, we were really lucky. I also hadn't grocery shopped in a while so we didn't loose too much food. I just think it's a miracle that none of those trees fell on any of the houses - craziness! We went up to the cabin so we didn't suffer without the power on, I'll post those pictures soon, we didn't take too many, we were busy having fun.

July update

boating with Papa
it was so cute, when Jason was busy reading Piper started eating his popsickle instead of hers

ahhh - this is so cute!
Mr. Chipmunk snacking out of Papa's shoe
nightly story time, Reagan loves listening to Piper's stories
my little photographer
a rare nap for Daddy

my beautiful girls, this is rare for Piper to actually look into the camera and give her normal gorgeous smile
Piper sharing her blanket "babee" with her sister
"what are you doing now Mom?"
there is the goofy avoid the camera face from Piper - Reagan looks worried
my little chubs, I had to take a picture

We were kite flying and I ran in to grab my camera, about the time I came back Piper had just let go of her kite and Mom had to chase it down to the end of the street
first bites of cereal
Reagan loves to join the dinner table and watch Piper eat
we were so tired after a day at the lake swimming, boating and floating with Uncle Bill and Aunt Niki
Aunt Niki holding Reagan at the lake
The girls are doing good. Man is Piper a challenge these days. I think I'm more of a challenge though, I have to lower my expectations and slow down and relax. It's hard to both remind myself to do that and actually do it but we've reverted on our potty training and I just let her go when she wants to in the potty and she's back to wearing pull ups. Oh well, less mess for me to clean up and I'm doing about 3 less loads of laundry per week as well. She's even started sleeping in later too - odd! Piper's has 2 requests each and every day without fail, one is to go "outkide" (outside in a German accent) and the other is to either call or go to Dora and Papa's. She has become quite the Daddy's girl too, if anything goes wrong or she gets into trouble she must call Daddy. It's too cute! She's already learned that if Daddy says no to something she comes to ask me or vice versa - it is a darn good thing Jason and I are very much on the same page about things.
Reagan is such a little happy camper, always smiling and laughing for just about any reason she can think of. I don't know how we got two happy babies! Are we lucky or what?? She's rolling from her tummy to back but she will only do it in her crib, she's also getting really good at using her hands to get stuff to her mouth. Oh did I mention she's a champion drooler too? She had her 4 month check up and shots today, she's up to 12lbs 15 oz. I swear their scale is off though, I thought she weighs more but oh well, still happy and healthy. Reagan is a complete Mommy's girl, she wants to be in the middle of the action and wants to be in Mom's arms as much as possible these days, and well even most of the evening, nights and early morning hours. I wish I had another set of arms and an extra brain.
