Happy Birthday Piper
Tuesday, January 20, 2009

Wow - where have the past 4 years gone? Our first baby is 4 today. She woke up to a pile of presents and requested a pancake breakfast. At school today I got to join in the celebration, they have about 15 minutes of picture sharing and a chance to show off their Mom's/Dad's. We celebrated her Birthday with Grandma Mary, Papa Miller and Jill, Papa Lonny and Grandma Robin, and Bill and Niki and Claire on Saturday but we will do something fun tonight as well.
I'm at it again.....

I wasn't making any new friends at the checkout lane at Cub Foods this evening but oh well, I saved $80.68 on my groceries this evening, well I still have an additional $15 off my next grocery purchase so $95.68 total savings. They are having really great deals on cereal/diapers/wipes this week and with my additional coupons I got 15 boxes of cereal and 1 cake mix for $10.10, I saved $44.40 on cereal. Yes, I have to store 15 boxes of cereal but it will be gone within 2 months (it lasts forever anyways) and it's hard to resist paying $.63 per box instead of $3.55 per box. For the diapers and wipes I got 4 double packages of wipe refills and 1 package of diapers and a cake mix (filler item) for $14.21. Normally the individual wipes are around $2.50-$2.99 and the diapers are $9.99 each. Call me crazy but I love a good deal.

Out of order again but here we'll start with some fishing photos, Jason caught one little trout and a gull, as in seagull. The little fellow was all caught up in the line but he was lucky, they got him free and off he went.

whoa - not sure if that would feed all of us for dinner
this is so cute!
I wish Reagan would smile but when Piper has a hold of her the first instinct she has is to scream
this is me hard at play on the computer, the wi-fi would only come in at the edge of the lanai or in the yard

Reagan was just afloat in the pool, of course someone was always within reach but she was pretty brave

she was fearless however when it came to jumping in, we had to keep a very close eye on her while anyone was in the pool, she would just walk over and jump
Our day at the beach
Sunday, January 4, 2009
We spent our day at Sanibel Island today. It was warm, I don't know exactly but I'm guessing 80 or 81, plenty hot on the beach, we didn't need it warmer. The girls had a blast! Actually I think we all were pretty happy to be there. Piper wouldn't leave the waters edge. Reagan trotted to the parking lot and back several times (this is not a short walk). Jason and I are a little sunburned, not bad since we put on sunblock 4. We are ready to go back, hopefully on Tuesday for our last full day here in paradise. We really don't want to come back home to the frozen tundra, really, we don't. I was playing with my new camera and had it on beach setting so the pictures turned out pretty good. I like my new toy.
Piper and Clay hard at play
Reagan soaking up the love from Grandma

"hey, watch ya all looking at?"

Piper and I picked up this little wagon full of beach toys for Reagan at CVS, it was a whopping $13 and I think Reagan is going to miss it when we go home, she paraded this thing up and down the beach, it didn't leave her side.
she wasn't happy at all, can't you tell?
trying out for baywatch, kids
soaking up Grandpa's love too
what a stud!

here's my little cameo, see Piper, Jason and I have color coordinated suits this year, Reagan is gonna have to get with the program

playing with the camera again - the moon was showing at 2 in the afternoon
so I had to get a picture of it with the palm tree

on her walk to the parking lot

OOOHHHH BIRD!!! we love birds!

We drove through the Ding Darling Refuge. The only other time I have gone through Jason and I saw some crocs, or maybe Alligators, I don't remember which but I wasn't all that comfortable getting out and walking around with my little girl. I told her that if I saw one I'd scoop her up and put her in a tree so they couldn't get her. She said "but Mom, I don't know how to climb trees".

oh, in the background are a bunch of Pelicans and a few flamingos scattered here and there. That was the first time we had seen "mingos" in the wild

some sort of bird, he was just perched all spread out, maybe drying off? Who knows?

fish jumping, it was pretty cool to sit and watch this little fish jumping around, they typically would jump three times in a row, I'm surprised I caught any pictures of them

Reagan at dinner, she's growing up and changing each day, well except for the constant drooling, she's pushing through yet another tooth, this one is one of her bottom fronts, she's not the happiest camper this week

Here's New Year's Eve, we were at dinner at our usual place, we love our traditional dinner

at the beach, this is after our celebrating, it's a good thing we had Clayton as our sober cab, we were pulled over on the way home and given a citation for our tabs being expired from January of 'o8, whoops!
this is before we started, well Claire and I had already had one, can you tell?
the beach at the river, Reagan had to get her feet wet

So, who wants to come to Florida to go to Chuck E Cheese? Anyone, anyone? Well Piper does, can you tell how excited everyone else was to be there? We were doing a mini celebration for her Birthday coming up on the 21st.

yep, here we are, at least we're not wearing coats, hats and gloves. The place was packed. Who knew???

Reagan on the pier at the river

quick family shot

Piper took this of us, she's pretty good, too bad we didn't pack her camera, she could have gotten all kinds of fun shots

she's gonna get that bird on the railing
digging a giant moat. Reagan (little Miss Bossy) is telling Piper and Jason how to get things doneWe are having such a good time, I feel like our trip is almost done as the weekend approaches but luckily we still have 4 more full days. The weather says today is cooler around 75 and all the remaining days should be 80 or above except for Wednesday when we leave it says 74 and raining.
