Christmas is coming

We're getting in the Christmas spirit around here. We made wreaths at Niki's, celebrated a very nice Thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpa's (Brecken's 1st Thanksgiving) and then took part in our 2nd year (and hopefully a new tradition) of tagging along with the Salmos family to cut down our tree. It was another beautiful day, Reagan's wearing a hat but it was so warm, especially considering it was November 28th.
I think this is one of my new favorite pictures - they are both so darn cute! This is our tree before being chopped.
The girls had a great time trying to stand on the stumps.
huh?? I crack up when I look at her expression in this photo.
Superstar!
Wreath making, Grandma Mary was being silly. Someone has to be!
We were trying to get the kids all together but Alicia and I decided we should hold Reagan and Kayden in place.

Jason and Reagan took a little hike to the portables. Sometimes I miss the convenience of diapers.
My stud at it again! Can you hear the manly grunts? Oh, that's right it's only a small tree.
Now, when we get around to actually decorating the tree I will try to remember to take pictures. Hopefully tomorrow evening we will get it started.

Halloween and piles of leaves

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

We had a great Halloween, Brecken came by for a visit and to show off her cuteness in her first Halloween costume. Then we went over to Heather and Brant's to feast on chili and some other yummy snacks before heading out to trick or treat with Aydan and Jace. The girls enjoyed trick or treating with friends. Poor Reagan, I put her in Piper's flower girl dress and it was a bit long, she couldn't walk very fast and kept tripping. Finally I picked her up and brought her back to Heather's to hang out with Austin and Brant's Mom in the warm house. After the other kids got back we headed out to visit Grandma Robin and then Great Grandma Marilyn. It was a busy day and the kids had a great time. It only took them 2 days to forget about the stash of candy too, it's still up in our cupboard for Jason to find.

Brecken just gets cuter every time we see her
Both girls were very active in cleaning their pumpkins this year, it only took us about 20 minutes.

I thought it would be messy so I stripped them down.
Jace the lion (Piper said on the way home she thinks she's going to marry him), Aydan the bee, Piper the scary but cute witch and Reagan the good witch.

Brecken was tired, Niki says when she gets tired she attacks her, it was pretty funny although probably not for Niki.

We took advantage of the warm weather a couple of Saturday's ago and cleaned the yard. Piper was extremely helpful raking and blowing leaves. Poor Jason, everyone will make the piles but he was left bagging them all.
dual blowers

they had so much fun!

more Seattle - finally!

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Ok, finally I am posting more Seattle pictures. I just don't sit down at the computer like I used to so I'm a little slow. I still have to post Halloween too - I will get those done this week. I had such a great time visiting with Amber and Matt and their two cute little girls. It is a gorgeous area, with mountains, valley's, watterfalls and the leaves were so vibrant while I was there . I'm definitely looking forward to going back for another visit. Hopefully it doesn't take another 2 years to get there.

Space Needle
Matt and I took an Underground Tour one afternoon - it was pretty interesting, they had fires/flooding etc back in the day and decided to build the city up, filling the streets with just about anything they could find, as they originally just kept piling dirt on the streets, it was just a big mud and sewage problem. Anyhow, without rambling too much, they built the streets up to the second story of many of the buildings, leaving the sidewalks on the original level. We went under the existing sidewalks and were walking on the old original ones and looking at the original storefronts which became basements.

Here is where we ate lunch - it was an old saloon built 100 years ago or more.
pretty buildings
the colors - we missed that at home this fall
Matt and I at lunch
tour office
Old pergola that was an old train depot (I think???)
I made the Spencer's an apple pie, I couldn't locate my favorite recipe online so I went with another and Amber I decided it sounded good to add a bunch of extra caramel - well it tasted good but it was soup
we are standing below the sidewalk above us and trying to watch people walk over the glass

Cool buildings - you just don't see enough of the cool architecture anymore

Chief Seattle and Matt
I guess no trip to Seattle would be complete without a trip to Pike's Market. It was pretty cool, I enjoy markets, we had a good time and watched them toss a couple of fish too.
Sasquatch (sp?) - I was trying to show him grabbing my behind while I was trying to hid his codpiece so the girls wouldn't notice it. I'm so inappropriate at times!
Amber made me ride the pig
Our tour guide is showing us what has become the first floor. We are standing outside of the old first floor which is now underground.

Puget Sound
The hills kind of reminded me of San Fran
Amber is saying "what are you doing?"
Sunset outside of their house, I don't understand it but the sky was not quite that color, my camera picked up colors I didn't

this was so gross and slimy looking

the flowers were so pretty along the balcony
