Where has the summer gone??

Friday, August 8, 2008

Only 1 more week until Baby Bill and Nik the Chick get married. We are very excited in this house. Piper has her dress, is obsessed with her new shoes and we've been trying out hairstyles for Piper. I just hope that by the time she is actually at the wedding she's still as excited and doesn't get all shy. I have this fear that she's going to be the shy, naughty flower girl. We will see......

another cake and flowers

Tuesday, August 5, 2008

Well I finished up Course1 and my Fondant/Gumpaste course. Here is my finale cake from course 1 and then the fondant rose I made (I like these better than the icing roses) and a carnation I made out of gumpaste. Now I am onto Course2 in which I'll learn more flowers. Luckily I only need to make one cake for this course. Whew!

Visit with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa

Monday, August 4, 2008

Last week we drove Mom to the dentist and while we waited we swung over to visit Grandma and Grandpa. We had a very nice visit, although it was only for a couple of short hours. I'm glad I finally got to see the new place.

Grandma made us some very delicious cookies, she showed Piper how she made the indentations with the sprinkles.

Here Grandma is being silly and Piper is just eating it up
as you can see the girls made quite a mess

Reagan and Grandpa had a great time playing together

More cabin fever

We headed up to the cabin again on the 25th/26th. It was a short visit since I had another cake class on Sunday morning. We still packed a lot of fun into our 1 day visit. We celebrated Robin's Birthday a few days early.

a little family canoe trip around to the pond - Piper insisted on helping so I got to sit back and take pictures

The girls hanging out with Grandma and Great Grandma on the floating dock
we had a little picnic lunch out there it was so gorgeous
Piper's a picker - yep - any dry skin she can find - I know - this is really gross!
Reagan enjoying her freedom outdoors
she walks up and down the path, practicing her balance

my girls are just hams
boy, it's been a long day of play, I better lean back in Grandma's new chair

our friend the chipmunk
more haming it up
this is how close we can get to the chipmunk, he is not scared, when my friends and I were up there he went up to Heather's foot and gave her a sniff, funny considering Heather is usually so afraid of crawly things

this is so darn cute but this is also so typical, Reagan starts with her whining/crying as soon as Piper touches her, she's been hurt one too many times, now it's an immediate reaction when Piper's around
