Odds and Ends of May

We were so happy to finally be able to be outside in May!

Reagan cracks me up, sometimes I like to just sit and watch her in action. She is so content to just play with whatever she finds. This particular day she was enthralled with washing a bucket of rocks.

Jason was excited to get back to mowing his lawn. For whatever reason he was intent on getting the lawn finished this day, even in the pouring rain. He actually really looked like he was having fun.

Of course the girls were very excited for the lawn mower to come out so they could resume their rides around the yard.

I love seeing her so happy, sometimes Piper works so hard at being serious.

Sheering day

MAY

It was that time of year again! As the weather was warming up we knew we had to give Goody and Saki their annual haircuts. This year it was just Jason and I doing the sheering. What an experience for me to get down and dirty wrestling with the boys and being spit on. I think it was better for me when Jason had help from his friends. Rob did stop by to laugh at us for a while which always lightens the mood.

Goody's dark fur is so much more forgiving than Saki's white.

May gardening

For Mother's Day I requested that the entire family help plant our garden. I was so excited and we were so ambitious and planted such a great variety of vegetables this year. Unfortunately we did not do any real prep work and the weeks took over while I was staying at Bill and Niki's watching the kids. By the time I got back home and had some time to dedicate to the garden it turned into that hot nearly 100 degree stretch and I just didn't get motivated in time to save any plants that may have been trying to come up. Oh well, there is always next year right?

Piper was enthusiastic, helping to turn over the soil after Jason tilled it.

One of Jason's clients sells these great little starter kits for a variety of vegetable gardens. The girls loved starting the little seedlings.

Easter

This year we decorated with glitter - glitter was everywhere!

The Bunny left a trail of candy coming down the stairs this year.

Dad ordered a flower basket of cupcakes, Piper really enjoyed them.

Cousin time!

The girls even got to celebrate with Tessa and Melaina this year. It was so cute watching all the little girls in their fancy dresses.

I think I just clicked the camera at a weird moment but it sure looks like she's growling, trying to keep others away from her basket.
