Our day at the beach

Sunday, January 4, 2009

We spent our day at Sanibel Island today. It was warm, I don't know exactly but I'm guessing 80 or 81, plenty hot on the beach, we didn't need it warmer. The girls had a blast! Actually I think we all were pretty happy to be there. Piper wouldn't leave the waters edge. Reagan trotted to the parking lot and back several times (this is not a short walk). Jason and I are a little sunburned, not bad since we put on sunblock 4. We are ready to go back, hopefully on Tuesday for our last full day here in paradise. We really don't want to come back home to the frozen tundra, really, we don't. I was playing with my new camera and had it on beach setting so the pictures turned out pretty good. I like my new toy.

Piper and Clay hard at play

Reagan soaking up the love from Grandma

"hey, watch ya all looking at?"

Piper and I picked up this little wagon full of beach toys for Reagan at CVS, it was a whopping $13 and I think Reagan is going to miss it when we go home, she paraded this thing up and down the beach, it didn't leave her side.

she wasn't happy at all, can't you tell?

trying out for baywatch, kids

soaking up Grandpa's love too

what a stud!

here's my little cameo, see Piper, Jason and I have color coordinated suits this year, Reagan is gonna have to get with the program

playing with the camera again - the moon was showing at 2 in the afternoon

so I had to get a picture of it with the palm tree

on her walk to the parking lot

OOOHHHH BIRD!!! we love birds!

We drove through the Ding Darling Refuge. The only other time I have gone through Jason and I saw some crocs, or maybe Alligators, I don't remember which but I wasn't all that comfortable getting out and walking around with my little girl. I told her that if I saw one I'd scoop her up and put her in a tree so they couldn't get her. She said "but Mom, I don't know how to climb trees".

oh, in the background are a bunch of Pelicans and a few flamingos scattered here and there. That was the first time we had seen "mingos" in the wild

some sort of bird, he was just perched all spread out, maybe drying off? Who knows?

fish jumping, it was pretty cool to sit and watch this little fish jumping around, they typically would jump three times in a row, I'm surprised I caught any pictures of them

Reagan at dinner, she's growing up and changing each day, well except for the constant drooling, she's pushing through yet another tooth, this one is one of her bottom fronts, she's not the happiest camper this week

She was so darn tired, as soon as we started the car after dinner her head hit the slump and she was out. Piper fought and fought falling asleep in the car but finally lost her battle and she was out too.

this is the dock where the fish were jumping

here's #2 in the fish jumping sequence, I don't understand why I can't keep these pictures in order anymore
